About 350 books amounting to around 100K pages has to be converted within a month to various formats compatible with multiple devices like Ipad, desktop and android tablets apart from their proprietary tool XanEdu. The turnaround time was initially 48 hours.
We had a dedicated team of 50 people working on the project and our innovative workflow was designed to meet the specifications of the client. Our technological team created an innovative tool which improved the productivity and Quality and in turn we were able to deliver to the client in 24 hours’ time.
The courseware contained not only text and figures but also catered to view professor selected videos, search course materials with phrases, highlighting notes etc.
End to End Solution
We worked with one of the largest EU Open-Access Academic Publisher who were publishing STM journals. The challenge is to deliver the content with editing, composition, XML/HTML and epub within a short turnaround time.
They started with 2 journals and currently we are working in 69 journals for them. They were scattered all around the world for 140 countries with 40K high profile editors in 28 fields in Science, Technology and Medicine. In 2007 they were publishing around 69 articles per annum but currently they are publishing around 11K articles per annum.
When we started, the Production Process was mostly manual, most of the styles were not Standardized in both Copyediting and Composition since Publisher was new to the industry. Over a period of time we standardized the styles for Copyediting and Composition along with the Publisher through our detailed study reports, analysis and Corrections.
We developed our in-house tool for Copyediting and composition which reduced 50% of our manual work which drastically increased the Productivity and Quality. The tool further enhances the Productivity of a team wherein the TAT was reduced further and the Quality of the team too increased more.
